China Suspends Registration Of New Net Caf¨¦s

From today, no approval will be given to applications involving the establishment of net cafés in a 200m radius around primary and middle schools as well as within residential buildings or blocks. In addition, the registration of such kinds of services will similarly be halted.

Aiming to address the concern that some illegal net cafeé spread harmful cultural information to youngsters, the State Administration of Industry and Commerce has delivered notice to each of its branches, requiring them to do everything possible to straighten out the operation of online service business sites like net cafés and to severely punish providers of illegal online services.
