Chinese National Accuses Sony Of Patent Infringement

It is reported that Sony (China) and Shanghai Suoguang Electronic Co., Ltd have been indicted by a Mr. Wang, who claims that the two corporations infringed on his patent right, using his “Digital Light Testing Screen” in 16 products.

Mr. Wang is seeking CNY1.05 million in compensation.

Mr. Wang applied for the patent, which can be used for digital cameras, at the State Intellectual Property Right Bureau on November 19, 2001. Later he claims that he found his technology had been used by the defendants in 16 products, which led to the current legal battle. The case is now proceeding in Beijing Secondary People’s Court.
