Beijing’s Haidian District City Planning Administration has chosen 15 streets in its Shangdi area to test an RFID application.

They have this past week installed 1000 RFID scanners that can quickly identify the identification of 1000 wells in the area.

If the cover of a well is lost, an RFID scanner can quickly find the proprietor of the well by scanning the e-tags inside the well.

The Haidian District City Planning Administration says this application of RFID in municipal facilities and public establishments can help the management department better maintain these facilities. In the coming weeks they expect to make more announcements of different ways RFID will be implemented within the city.
