Siemens has dissolved its IPTV team in China after losing the battle for bidding for Shanghai’s IPTV program.

Shanghai’s IPTV bidding was one of most important events of this year for the IPTV industry. Many domestic and international giants, including UTStarcom (UTSI), Huawei, ZET, ASB, Siemens (SI) and Microsoft (MSFT) participated in the bidding. But Siemens, which took part in Shanghai’s IPTV tests for more than a year, surprisingly lost the battle.

Local media report that Siemens has suffered a total collapse of its IPTV service in China after its loss.
