Kingsoft Confirms Establishment Of Independent Security Company In China

Chinese software and online game provider Kingsoft has confirmed that it will formally announce the partition of its security business and the establishment of an independent security company named Beijing Kingsoft Security Software Company Limited on April 15, 2010.

With the establishment of the new security company, Kingsoft will launch the 2011 edition of its anti-virus software, Kingsoft Duba.

According to previous reports in local media, the registered capital of this independent company is CNY8 million and its enterprise legal representative is Lei Jun, former president and CEO of Kingsoft.

Wang Xin, CEO for Kingsoft’s security software business, said that the new company may seek a public offering in the future.

The newly established Beijing Kingsoft Security Software will have 500 employees and its product lines cover all Kingsoft’s security software products, including Kingsoft Duba, Kingsoft Internet Security, and mobile phone security software.
